About Us

Alron Enterprises was established in 1997 by Alister Mclaughlin and Ron Stewart after successful careers in Television and Video sales and rentals. To take advantage of their considerable experience and personal contacts they set up the Short Term Rental Company to hire audio Visual equipment to restaurants, bars and sports clubs on a day by day or weekly basis.

The intention was not to rent equipment long term because as TV’s became cheaper and retailers offering more favourable purchase options, rental became less popular. However many Short Term Customers became Long Term Clients because of Alron’s seven day a week service.

Many new restaurant and bar owners use Alron’s experience when setting up new establishments. From the drawings, Alron staff would suggest placement, sizes and types of equipment, arrange the wiring, aerials, and brackets, supplied and installed what was required on time and within budget. The Cock and Bull chain is one of Alron’s clients. From the first small brewery in Ti Rakau Drive Pakuranga to the latest one in Newmarket. Other large clients include the Slipp Inn Birkenhead, The Prospect of Howick, The Courtyard Bar and The Milestone Bar in Otahuhu.

Alron also work very closely with hospital boards supplying computers and projectors.

In 2001 Alron Enterprises made the decision to develop a professional installation branch to service companies, retailers, and service agents and to support their growing Short Term Rental business.

From small beginnings of one van, a small covered trailer and two staff to today with six vehicles and eleven staff, the business has grown to be a major source of income for the company while providing an installation service considered second to none.

Alron Enterprises are now the preferred installers in Auckland for Next Electronic Servicing Limited, Harvey Norman Botany Downs and Mt Wellington, and Philips New Zealand Limited.

There is an increasing demand from people who have purchased equipment from retailers and attempt to do the installation themselves. When what seemed a simple operation at the time becomes a major battle with unresponsive equipment, hard to understand instruction manuals and untold leads and sockets they now seek professionals to turn a pile of boxes, leads and bits into a visual and audio symphony. It is not uncommon these days for an installation to include a 42" to 61" Plasma or LCD or a projector mounted on a wall bracket or stand, DVD Recorder and full 5.1 channel home theatre audio system.

With the imminent demise of rear- projection television and the dramatic drop in prices of Plasma and LCD Panels, Alron Enterprises has seen an increased demand for the installation and hiring of these products.
